I would go with this distributor.  There is a MSD adjustable rotor available for phasing.  Part #84211

Only thing I don’t like about that distributor in that link is that it requires an ignition box

Figure 13 in your instruction manual is timing control without an ignition box.  The Fitech is the ignition box.

I see that option in the instructions manual  for the 30002 but I have the 30003 Fitech which doesn’t seem to have that option

You are right.  That unit does not support timing control.  Must use a distributor with mechanical advance.  This may be an option for you.

Ok so I started emailing my logs to Bryce over at Fitech and from looking at my log he noticed I was loading fuel pressure and the reason was because I had my fuel line coming off of the top of my fuel tank with about a 12” diptube in the tank and he said I needed to get my fuel from the bottom of my tank so I ordered a 36 dollar fuel sump I found on eBay and installed it, had to drill about a 3 inch hole in the bottom of my tank and I wish I would have installed a ball valve but ohh well. So with all that installed i checked the timing and adjusted my IAC steps a bit then took it to the lake and it worked pretty good, I got it to go like about 30 miles an hour, it may need some more tuning and the bogging issue went away even with WOT

Awesome....  Good information.   Let it learn.  Keep logging.

Alright well a little update for anyone who’s looking into doing a Fitech Efi conversion on an older boat, so I took it out a few weeks ago and it ran fine on the water up until I beached it to take a break and make some sandwiches, once I pulled it back out of the sand and turned it on again The boat only wanted to 15 mph again so we got it back to the dock and took her home, when I got home I figured I’d take the prop off and take it to the only guy in Houston that repairs props Baumann props, which is a great place by the way. In a few days he had my prop ready so I slapped it back on and headed to lake Houston. Once I got it back on the water it still only wanted to hit a top speed of 15 mph for about a mile and then all of a sudden the computer seemed to finally learn for my application and out of no where I was hitting 37 mph on a 21’ ski boat and on choppy water which was pretty impressive, especially the take off. Top speed on the boat is around 40 mph and 37  mph on choppy water is pretty good. So I took it out on Sunday also and everything still remains good, turns right on as long as you wait for the fuel pump to prime and runs great at just about 3000-4000 constant rpm
