cold start surging
Quote from Blue55chevy on April 15, 2020, 11:20 ami had it tuned last summer and ran great. starting in the fall when weather got cold it started surging until warm.
i started it again this spring and surges really bad afrs to 20 then down to 10 or 11. i did my first data log and see that it has a fault 36 when this happens. but as soon as it warms up it clears up. my tach wire has foil tape and inside vent tube. what would have changed. chevy 350 with weiand 177 supercharger 600pa msd ready to run locked out at 32 degrees. thanks in advance

Quote from ajax-1947 on April 23, 2020, 11:53 pmJust found an old comment from Bryce at Fitech, Fault Code 36 is a RPM fault, what would cause this to happen every 30 seconds or so and then clear itself? I have earths everywhere and rpm wire to the throttle body is sheathed in woven wire earthed at one end, I haven't touched anything electrical lately, commenced the fault out of the blue. Thanks.

Quote from ajax-1947 on May 4, 2020, 3:15 amFixed my Fault 36 problem. My engine is a 5VEU Hemi style all aluminium Toyota V8 in '56 F100, for a distributor I used the Toyota bottom half and welded a Bosch half on top, I fitted points to do initial timing and set up, after 1500 kms points started to arc, changed out to a Pertronix conversion , walla, no noise, truck runs like a factory one.
As this was something that developed, I started to look at wear parts first when looking for the problem.
