Could I have a bad fuel pressure regulator?

The damaged 'o' ring in my regulator was blocking most of the fuel getting to the injectors.

Quote from LAZYMON on May 29, 2021, 8:58 pmI got a hold of Fitech support, I told him all the troubleshooting I had done. He had me replace all the files on the handheld and then do a procedure to reprogram the ECU. No go, injectors do not fire. He is thinking a problem with the ECU and sent me an RMA request form to fill out. This is outside the 1 year warranty so they will probably not replace the ECU but we will see. In the meantime I put the Quadrajet back on and took it off-roading and it is running great. Thanks all for the opinions and help.

I have the exact same issue. Bone dry- no fuel from all of the injectors.
no fault codes either.
not only I’m outside the warranty- I also live in Israel which means sending it back and all would cost a lot, and they won’t ship it back to here had another issue, only domestic shipping was offered.
anyway- please update if possible since it seems I’m on the same road you’re on.
I have emailed them - but still waiting for an answer.
see my post and adventures for more info:

Quote from LAZYMON on July 15, 2021, 8:13 pmWell they replaced the ECU and I put it back in place and it fired right up. Now I have to go through and dial it in.
I have attached the tech notes that I got in an email.
“Unit was tested on the test bench and when we gave the ECU 12V the ECU powered on and turned on the handheld, we then gave the ECU key power however the ECU began to make an audible clicking noise while not firing a prime shot, we then gave the ECU fuel pump power and the fuel pump powered on but was pulsating so it continuously turned on and off, we then gave the ECU RPM and the handheld saw the 800RPM but the injectors still did not fire and the fuel pump was still pulsating, ECU will need to be replaced”
Overall I was pleased with the tech service and support, much better than some of the stories I have heard. Good luck and God Bless
By the way I will keep my quadrajet stashed away in my truck in case this quits on me on the trail.

Quote from b1ackth0rne on July 16, 2021, 6:15 amthis gives me hope since mine is on its way as well. since i live in Israel they walked me through all the tests with the same results.
could you by any chance - ask them in regards to the issue - what could be the root cause? since it's not some freak accident and the same issue happened to several people already.. understanding it could help prevent it.
I mainly suspect heat. but if it is the culprit - why wouldn't fitech at least recommend something to mitigate this?
sure - it is supposed to be able to withstand the heat the manifold passes through it. but it shortens its life significantly and causes the product to be unreliable ... but- that's relevant if my suspicion is correct.
