Fan not switching
Quote from mark_j@windowslive.com on December 15, 2018, 7:42 pmI have just fitted an frtermarket electrical fan. If I run the fan straight to the battery it works, when wired through a relay nothing.
i have switched on the fan in the handheld and sent to ECU, I also adjusted down the on off temperatures, but nothing.
i followed the Fitech instructions for wiring the relay, battery power pin 30, power to fan 87, power from ignition 86 and yellow Fitech wire to earth 85. I earthed the fan.
Has anyone any ideas why it won’t work?
Thanks Mark.

Quote from Deleted user on December 16, 2018, 6:44 amI would run a jumper wire from 85 to the negative on battery. This will trigger the relay. Also make sure you have a 40 amp relay. Electric fans draw a lot at startup.
Let me know.

Trying to narrow down where the problem is. See if it is the relay or something with the unit or settings.
