Gear Drive And FiTech...Compatible?

Hello!
My apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section. I'm new to the forum, and new to EFI systems, other than a rudimentary conceptual grasp.
I have recently picked up a 30061 dual-quad system and the fuel command for a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner with a 440 / 4-speed setup.
My primary question is about the "noisy" gear drive that is currently installed in the engine. I heard somewhere that this may create some sort of noise or vibration interference with the electronics within the FiTech system. Can anyone speak to this?
My next question is about my distributor, which is a basic stock electronic ignition-type unit. Will I have to swap it out for something more compatible?
Many thanks in advance for any tips!
