hanging idle

Page 1 of 2Next

im having a problem with my idle, stays high for about 4 seconds. tried playing with iac, but no luck. have it set at 650. goes as high as 11oo, stays there for a couple of seconds then comes down. also makes the throttle make a loud sucking air sound. anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like IAC settings.

Does this happen when you stop or put into park? If so go into the idle control menu in pro tuning.  Increase the value in the "Loop Down".  It may be IAC menu, can't remember the name......

it seems to happen when i come off the throttle. get annoying when ur in a parking, tap the throttle and the idles "hangs" make the truck lurch forward. then the throttle body makes a loud sucking sound, then goes normal in a couple off seconds. been messing with iac settings, but no luck yet.

Did you increase the loop down rate?

not yet, will do after work today!

so I tried your idea with the loop down rate, and it didnt work. i also tried to work with the iac, no luck. i went up and down with the values, helped very little. got any other ideas? I also tried the values on the decel, no luck there either.

I have no idea now.  You have changed so much stuff.....

I want you to watch the data when the idle hangs.  Specifically the IAC steps.  If the steps are going down in sync with your RPM, then the problem is the loop rate down on IAC.  Now, if you have changed other stuff, then no telling what your system is doing.

This is a common issue that is easily fixed. Either you have changed too many settings or I am not understanding your issue.

I put all my setting back to original, and worked with just the loop rate, as you said. still no luck. I took pics of my hand held, maybe you will see something that I am missing? Thank you for the time and help with this!!!!

Higher value to increase the rate IAC loops down.  4 is almost nothing over the default.  Did you try 20 or 30.

So I tried it at 25, still the same. do I have to do a relearn?
