IAC Delete
Quote from wb292 on January 31, 2025, 10:24 amI have a 30003 400HP unit. I noticed Fitech offers a block off plate. PN 60039. Id like to install one on my unit. I'm tired of IAC motors failing about every 8 months to a year. Is there a procedure in the hand held for this? Or can I just remove it, install the block off plate and set idle with the screw? I do realize it will throw a code, but as long as it runs fine i'm ok with that.

Quote from SodaPop on February 12, 2025, 5:07 pmEmail FiTech support for a answer to see if you can install it on your unit and what are the drawbacks; if any. I have the same unit as yours since 2017 and have had zero issues with mine unit. Not sure why you are having IAC motor failures.

Quote from wb292 on May 20, 2025, 4:52 pmIt went well. It's been about 3 months now. It threw a code but still runs and idles well. I just set the idle for 750 with the AC on. So far no other issues.
I assume the block off plate is for a engine with a radical cam that has a rough idle that the IAC can't keep up with. But even with my mild cam it still works well for me.

I am very curious about this. I have not yet had an issue with it, but if it doesn't change functionality much, then what's the point of having the IAC motor. In the worst case, it may be worth having the block off plate in the spare box in case it breaks when on the road so it is an easy fix.
The FiTech IAC Block Off Plate Replacement (60039) is a specialized block-off plate designed for FiTech fuel injection throttle bodies. This part allows the user to eliminate the Idle Air Control (IAC) sensor, a common modification for specific tuning or troubleshooting needs, especially on older, pre-pollution control vehicles. The plate effectively seals the IAC sensor port, and the included O-ring ensures a leak-free installation.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
- Eliminates the IAC Sensor: Allows the removal of the Idle Air Control (IAC) sensor.
- Provides a Secure Seal: Effectively seals the IAC sensor port to prevent leaks.
- Leak-Free Installation: Includes an O-ring to ensure proper sealing.
- Designed for Compatibility: Specifically made for FiTech fuel injection systems.
- Ideal for Classic Vehicles: Suitable for use on older, pre-pollution control automobiles.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Part Number: 60039
- Type: IAC Sensor Block-Off Plate
- Material: Metal
- Includes: Block-off plate, O-ring
- Compatibility: Designed for FiTech Fuel Injection throttle bodies. Commonly used on classic vehicles such as Ford Mustangs, F-100s, Broncos, and Chevrolet C10s/C/Ks.
HOW TO USE:
- Ensure Safety: Make sure the engine is cool and the vehicle is securely positioned.
- Locate the IAC Sensor: Identify the Idle Air Control (IAC) sensor on the FiTech throttle body.
- Disconnect the Sensor: Unplug the electrical connector from the IAC sensor.
- Remove the Sensor: Carefully detach the IAC sensor from the throttle body.
- Position the Block-Off Plate: Place the FiTech 60039 block-off plate over the IAC sensor port.
- Install the O-Ring: Ensure the included O-ring is properly seated between the plate and the throttle body.
- Secure the Plate: Fasten the block-off plate using the appropriate hardware.
- Verify the Fit: Ensure the plate is tightly secured to prevent air leaks.
BENEFITS OF USING THE FiTech IAC BLOCK OFF PLATE REPLACEMENT (60039):
- Streamlines the Fuel Injection System: Removes an unnecessary component for simpler operation.
- Enhances Tuning Adjustments: Helps in fine-tuning engine performance.
- Prevents Air Leaks: Seals the IAC sensor port reliably.
- Eliminates a Potential Failure Point: Reduces the risk of issues caused by a faulty IAC sensor.
- Supports Custom Modifications: Enables users to adapt their fuel injection systems to their needs.
