IAT sensor part number?
Quote from dodgem880 on February 14, 2023, 12:19 pmHello
I'm not currently experiencing an issue, just curious.
Since no part number is listed for the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor I assumed it was soldered directly to the ECU board like the MAP sensor.
However, I recently watched a youtube video of someone replacing their ECU and noticed that it appears the sensor has a hex head and threads into the throttle body. It also has a connector although it looks alittle odd for an automotive application (doesn't look like it uses weather pak seals)
Has anyone discovered what application the IAT sensor is from?
I've attached two screenshots from the video.

If I had to guess why a standard GM sensor wasn't used I'd say it's because it wouldn't fit (easily) underneath the ECU. The connector looks too big.
I wonder if their using a modified GM/LS sensor with the connector section removed and wire leads added on for clearance?
I did find a listing on jegs for a FiTech IAT but, I believe that is for the LS versions and not the throttle bodies.
