no start issue

recently bought a 30005 TB connected it up as per instructions and worked perfectly really happy until the 3rd tank of gas, then no start, called Fitech and we did all the tests and decided that the ECU was not engaging the pump in the tank. So I was instructed to bypass the ECU and connect the pump to a circuit that worked off the key. It's working again tech guy told me that it would not void warranty if I ran  like that for the summer, now do I leave it like that or do I send unit back for repairs when I put truck away for the winter. any thoughts?

That just seems very strange that Fitech would tell you to bypass the ECU as a permanent solution to the problem, when it was their ECU that wasn't engaging the pump.  If you are happy with that solution, then there is no problem doing that as a permanent solution.  My fuel pump couldn't use the Pulse Width Modulation from the Fitech, so that's what I'm doing also, and it works fine.

After talking to a mechanic that has worked on a number of  systems that are similar, he said that in tank DC pumps prefer to have 100% power than trying to run on 60 or 70% power, just don't run them dry lots of gas keeps them cool. so I think I'll leave things as they are.

Good choice.  I have a 90 psi, 380 lph pump, and after running that continuously with the key on, my fitech internal fuel pressure regulator went out, causing my fuel pressure to go to 90 psi, so I had to also put in my own external pressure regulator, cap off the fitech return port, and feed the excess to the return line back to the tank.  That's just another reason to have a fuel pressure gauge at your fitech fuel inlet.  The Meanstreet 800 system I have has just a 43 psi internal pressure regulator, so with the new external pressure regulator I could set my fuel pressure to whatever I wanted, so set it at 58 psi, turning my Meanstreet 800 system into a Meanstreet 1000 system.
