Running fine, died at idle and is now so rich it won’t run

There are others on this forum who are more knowledgeable  than me who should be able to help. I wouldn't discount noise as an issue. I am not Ford, but have read that the coil position causes problems and needed to be relocated. Also cannot see a earth from throttle body that should go directly to battery. Is the RPM  wire shielded and earthed on end? Any fault codes?

I had similar problem with my meanstreet 800 running fine, then bam, started running like crap.  It was the battery not putting out enough volts while turning the engine over.  I was down to 9 volts while cranking.  That's the kiss of death for the fitech unit, since with that low of a voltage, it won't initialize properly, even if it does finally start.  It will foul the plugs and you will need to clean them.  I just put in a Odyssey battery with 850 CCA, fired the car up and ran great again.  I've since put in a voltage gauge so I can see precisely what the voltage is on the fitech power wire while cranking the engine over.  Now it's 11 volts, which is plenty!  That's one difference between an EFI system and a carb.  The carb doesn't care what the voltage is.

Try reloading the stock file from the controller again and see if that works.

Injectedamx! You hit the nail on the head.  I had thought about it but didn’t want to erase any potentially useful information.

but fitech called and after hearing about it, said that was the best bet.

and now it’s up and running.  He suspected a file got corrupted so I am going to work on shielding my tach wire and possibly Adding a ground to the throttle body
