SteveTX 1966 Chevrolet C10
Quote from SteveTX on January 4, 2021, 11:21 pmMy brother and I inherited our dads favorite toy. He owned the truck almost since new. It was his pride and joy so after his passing we decided I would sell off my project and make this one mine. So we pulled the 350/350 combo out and dropped in a fairly wild for the street 505ci Big Block. Currently engine has a .100 over 454 GM block with a 4.25 stroke crank. (505ci) Forged Probe Pistons on a set of 6.385" Scat H beam rods. Some Brodix BB2 heads fully ported and all the detailed head work done by a good friend David Schiwezer. The cam is a solid roller Lunati part number 50204. Intake is a Edelbrock 2907 Victor 454-R. Fuel is supplied via a ProSystems 440 GPH Fuel Pump with matching return Regulator through one of their adjustable fuel logs into a ProSystems 1150cfm Dominator. Exhaust starts with a set of Hooker Super Competition Headers into 3" pipe feeding a pair of 3" Xlerator Performance Mufflers.
For good measure I opted to add a Nitrous Express plate system as well. I had a PTC converter setup for it and mated it up with a TH400. It still retains the original 12 bolt with 3.73 gears. Suspension has dropped spindles up front and some springs I cut and swapped out on the rear. We put it back on some old school slot wheels from U.S. Mags. As kids growing up we remember the truck fondly on a set of these. So we felt it was the right thing to do.
I have a few upgrades coming for it. A 9" Ford rear all blasted and ready to be cut down and built currently sits in my carport. I have a new digital dash my daughter was nice enough to get me for Christmas. And last but what brings me here is two days ago I came into possession of a FiTech Go EFI 8 1200 HP system.
So while waiting on some small parts to install the dash I have been spending quite a bit of time watching YouTube videos and reading up. Still a lot of reading to go but found out some of the better tech help is right here. Hopefully I wont need a lot of help.
