1974 Bronco

There are a lot of nice builds on here, mine is not one of them.  I bounce this truck off rocks, trees and the rev limiter thanks to the FiTech 😀

This Bronco started life out with a 302 and an Autolite 2100, briefly had a bank fire 5.0 out of a town car and then I stepped up to a 351W with GT40s and mass air via a 89 Mustang GT injection setup.  This ran great with some internet tuning, but I had bigger plans and wanted simplicity out in the middle of the woods.

Enter FiTech - I build a 351W with TFS 185s, 10.5:1 CR with a Comp XE274HR cam and topped it with an RPM air gap intake.  I have all the parts for Mustang injection, but I wanted a fraction of the wires and the ability to tune it myself.  At first it didn't run as good as the Mustang injection, but after a few trail rides I'm totally impressed.

I'm running the 600PA setup as with the compression ratio I plan on spraying the engine sometime in the future.  I went from a NP435 4 speed to a built C4 automatic as I couldn't shift gears fast enough with the dump truck transmission and 1st/reverse didn't generate any usable wheel speed.  Looking forward to learn more about the FiTech and get into my first power adder in the future, I'm thinking some of my other project may need a FiTech in the future as well.

Bronco specs:

1974 Bronco Ranger

D60 front with 4.11 gears, PSC full hydraulic steering, RCV 4340 axles with drive flanges, Cage radius arms and FOA air bumps.

D70 rear with 4.11 gears, disk brakes and a Ruff Stuff anti-wrap bars, Wild Horses 11 pack leaf springs.

Twisted Demon C4, Atlas II 3.8:1 transfer case with NorthernDrivetrain 1410 flanges at the axles and transfer case.

I built everything myself with the help of a few close friends - it takes anything I can throw at it at this point and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Hell Yeah.  I have tried to get some of my trail buddies to install a Fitech.  No takers yet.

We have four trucks running it in our group - flawless all around.
