4L60e not shifting out of 1st
Quote from colgad on November 26, 2018, 1:11 amEngine seems to run great but my 4L60e will not shift into second. The electron speedometer that is connected to the SPEEDO wire works but on the handheld it shows Zero MPH. So I can only assume that the VSS is sending a signal to the FiTech CPU because the Speedometer is registering correctly. And since the hand held is showing Zero MPH the CPU will not send the signal to shift to second. I have the Auto setup set to 4Lxx and 4L6x. Is there a setting I am missing? The engine is a 5.3 10-1 compression with just a LS1 cam in a 2WD 72 Blazer. I changed the VSS sensor thinking it may have been weak but no change. Thanks for any ideas.

Quote from five7kid on December 24, 2018, 1:52 pmFirst, make sure you have the settings correct in the initial Initial Setup.
I don't know if this will help you, but when I first installed the system, it wouldn't read the crank sensor. Tech Support walked me through the settings, which were okay, and didn't help. He then had me reload the cal file ("FiTech Initial Setup", "Engine Setup", then choose "Local cal file" from the bottom left of the screen). The initial settings had to be redone, but it read the crank sensor then, and finally fired up.

Quote from colgad on January 6, 2019, 9:49 pmNot sure why but by setting the Speedo Correction to 400 the transmission shifts 1-2 2-3 3-4 just fine. If I change it to any other setting like 300 it stays in 1st. So for now it's at 400. I am not sure what this setting is for but glad it worked for me. I was changing it to see if my speedometer would register any faster speed because at 15 mph on my gps it showed 5 mph on my electric speedometer.
Anyone know what the this setting "Speedo Correction" is really for? It is under Speedometer and Tach.
Thanks!
Dave

Quote from lo54ls on April 8, 2019, 10:23 pmI was having the same issue, not shifting out of 1st and no speed reading on the handheld. After a phone call to FiTech, we figured out the issue was with my initial settings.
In the initial setup screen, go into the Auto Transmission screen. In the screen there are two fields to select a transmission. In the first setting, it needs to be set to 4LOXE. (This was my problem). In the second field, select 4L6XE for a 4l60e or 4L8XE for a 4l80e.
Hope this helps.

Quote from AXLD on October 13, 2019, 7:35 amok I know this is a older post. but I am thinking about going back to a auto ( built 4L60E) . just so I understand correctly, if I choose the proper settings the Fitech will shift the trans properly ? can I go in and adjust shift points for more of a street / strip performance mode and then switch back to a street mode? thanks in advance for input , axld.
