Anyone using an MSD ready to run with Fitech ?
A-T-J, Did you ever come up with the direct cause of your erratic tach signal with the MSD ready to run ?
No I could not adjust it out for some reason. Tried playing with all kinds of settings such as loop up/down and also idle AFR targets (richer) but same behaviour with MSD or my duraspark distributor and module.
It would start a slight continuous surge after idling for a while when warm etc. It runs and idles much better and consistent with the Fitech controlling the timing with my locked out distributor, even with the AFR set much leaner. I think it may be the idle stability feature of the Fitech that stabilizes this.
The only issue I really have with the fitech timing control is the cold starts are a little harsh cranking over but the relay trick descibed above improved that.
