Backfire
Quote from pjnagel on May 12, 2019, 7:02 pmI installed a new 400h.p. kit on my Mopar 360 over the winter. I started and ran the engine with the base settings to set the ignition timing. I played with the tuning and got things a bit "out of wack". So I reset the settings to the stock V8 configuration. I started it and it ran for a few seconds before it acted like it was loading up and died. Now I can only get it to start by getting into the gas pedal, and it acts like it's loading up again and it dies, usually with a backfire through the throttle body.
What could have gotten changed that didn't get reset when I went back to the base V8 setting?

How would I know if an injector was stuck open? Fuel spraying when the key is turned on?

Quote from pjnagel on May 12, 2019, 9:24 pmOk, I just saw the thread on how to shield the tach wire. I will start with that, but I'm not sure that could be the problem because my issue happened very abruptly.

Quote from pjnagel on May 17, 2019, 7:07 pmI rerouted the tach wire and a few spark plug wires and now my pickup runs like a champ. If the rain subsides I will FINALLY get to take my pickup and my FiTech out on the open road. I'm excited!!!!!!
I'm sure I will be back looking for some fine tuning advice, but so far so good.
Thanks for the help guys!
