Bad map sensor

Rkarr, thanks for asking. Somebody could help us posting the  pictures. No experience here, so pics would be great help.

If you buy a Fitech, it will have this problem, almost guaranteed.  I think they should have recalled them all and repaired themselves.  They do have detailed instructions to send you so that you can fix it our self.  I you don't want to have to do this, then you should buy another product.

Installed a used system over the weekend and ran into this problem as soon as the engine warmed up. Vacuum reading was stuck and the idle was surging like crazy and totally dead throttle until I could get it up over 2,500 RPM. trimmed this little gasket and so far so good. Put about 50 miles on it in the heat and it's been perfect so far. Fingers crossed that this fixes it.

Joined just to say thanks as it looks like this saved me a load of time and frustration already.

I actually just installed my replacement ECU. My issues were different, but I found a questionable install from the factory. I decided to trim 1/2 of the neck off, and install the remaining 'neck' portion into the body first, then put the small tube portion from the ECU into the seal. My HOPE is that way, I'm reducing the chances of the same goof!

@ndamo

Thank you for posting the picture this fixed all my issues I was having with the system  It now runs great with just the default tune, I can't wait to fine tune the system now that is running normally.

I found this item you showed in the picture, it a delphi 15324982. Is this a replacement for the red one from the factory? I bout a new ECU for my meanstreet and have had so many issues. I looked today and mine did not come with one. Thats probably why I only show 2.5" of vacuum.

Had the same problem after about 200 miles on a new install. It showed up as surging at idle and stalling from a coust and stuttering on light throttle. I noticed the vacuum wasn't changing on the display, searched for fitech bad map sensor and this  thread saved me tons of headaches!

Are you opening up the ECU to get to this?? If so do you cut a gasket use something to seal it when you close it back up?

Hello all - any part number available for the "Grommet" - Looks similar to a AMP connector seal ???
