Battery voltage on handheld off

I know i'm anal but my Fitech handheld is off 1/2 volt from my tci tcu controler and battery volts at the battery.

example Battery volts 13.8 Fitech handheld reads 13.2

Anybody else see this?

I have seen this before in other applications and found it to be what is referred to as voltage drop across a span or through a circuit commonly caused by 3 things 1, bad ground  or high resistance path to ground. 2 a particular connection or size (gauge) of wire to small (primary wire or cabling does have a resistance per foot formula so you use the right gauge for a particular length. 3 voltage drop across a circuit same theory applies but the electronics are actually causing the voltage drop. Example alternator output  is usualy between 13.2 and 13.8. it may be a allowable amount of voltage drop, I would go back and recheck all my grounds and connections and make sure the right size wiring is used if you had to had any just my 2 cents.

Great info thanks.I have all those issues covered,I installed a flex a light 280 monster electric fans and even with a 200amp alternator I've been trying to get the idle voltage up.Looking at 12.0 volts on the fitech sucks when eveything else reads 12.5+.

When we get to adding more electrical features and draw to a factory system, these things can and will occur.  You should see the electrical problems I am having with my IROC.  It has more than once left us scratching our heads.

Combination of added draw, rear mount battery, bad advice and screw ups....
