Cant get my 30003 to cold start
Quote from burnski on February 7, 2020, 9:47 amHey guys, I bought the 30003 back in 2017 for my 64 Lincoln with the 430. When i got the system it had the T195o firmware on it. It started/ran great back then on T195o but there was a quirk in that firmware (dont recall the exact details - think it would cause random stall-outs?) so I was advised by FiTech to update to the T198i firmware. Ever since then, my car will not cold start without having to hold the throttle pedal down approx 15%.
When the car is warm (over 170f) my IAC holds around 3-5, my vacuum holds around -18.5, and I have replaced my exhaust manifold gaskets to confirm no leaks. I also replaced the IAC, my spark plugs and the O2 sensor.Once it is started, even moments after pedaling it to cold start, it will idle and warm-up no problem. It just will not cold start. I have tried disabling the pump shot, i've followed your facebook videos on adjusting the cranking fuel, but nothing ever makes a difference without holding open the throttle pedal.I find it peculiar that it used to start fine on the old T195o but has never started since the update to T198i. Is there anything I am missing? I called Fitech support line and their solution was to turn in the throttle stop set screw to hold the butterflies open. Although that did allow it to cold start, it would not idle below 1500rpm.Any suggestions where to start? Does anyone have the most recent firmware for the 30003? My handheld DOES have the white arrows.

Cranking has been an issue for many. I still fiddle with mine. The need to hold the throttle open tells me it is getting too much fuel during cranking.
