Cold Engine Issue (Start & Running)

I have had the Fitech for about 2 years now, warm it runs really well.

Every start takes atleast 7 seconds of cranking then starts fine.

During the first 20-30 Minutes of running is runs rough - especially with medium to hard throttle inputs. (Hesitates, then surges off)

Once I have done 3-4 throttle medium to hard throttle inputs - it runs really well.

Anyone with ideas of how to address this?

Thanks

Rory

20 to 30 minutes?    need to know what coolant temp is doing in this 20/30 minutes..

Long crank time.  I had this issue.  Installed a check valve in front of my inline pump.   Solved the crank issue.

Sorry but can't help with your other issue except to confirm that you aren't disconnecting your battery in between use?  Almost sounds like it's losing its "learned settings".

I would put cranking to the side for now and focus on rough running.  Have you verified the coolant temp sensor is accurate to your gauge or to general operating temp?

God I hope I'm not losing all my learned values by disconnecting the battery when not in use.  Is that what happens?  It's been doing ok when I've fired it up once a week by temporarily connecting it back with my cutoff switch.  I do make sure I wait a few minutes after turning the engine off before disconnecting the battery again.  I'm in the middle of painting the car, so I'm not driving it yet.  I do like the check valve idea, I also have one.

I have had the same style issue, cold and warm starting. started tweaking on the crank settings in the PRO tuning ( using hand held) .  I usually take a pic of where I start. ( I did not this time) . I actually made it worse , so I went back to the last tune I had saved and started over, still working on it as the cold start as  I say it has to be the first start of the day. The prime shot is the first to work on( thus no need for a check valve) as from the factory it is ALOT. you can  disable it by holding the throttle down before you key on and see if it likes that. next you will need to work on your crank fuel @ the temps( I have 20F at 0)  I have my CRANK IAC at 100 for now .I only work on the AFTER START in the 170F range because I live in mid FLORIDA where winter is only in the morning, lol. good luck.
