cold start idle hunting
to start the 545 871 blown big block I have to cycle the key 3 time with throttle crack to get fuel down in the intake I start the car with the timing control retarted and once it starts the idle surges for about 45 seconds and then goes steady and once you get warm it just starts fine and idles
Could it be a lean surge?
Might try adding some to the Afterstart.
don't know exactly what to change for that but I did just get back from the maiden voyage the only issue I had was a loose ground for the water pump overheated a bit but during the drive throttle response was good responsive no dead spots it was only a mile or so before the over heat but running with no issues

The afterstart section is within the cranking menu. It will richen the mixture for warmup.
