Data Logging Not capturing Dashboard
Quote from 67whitecoupe on April 1, 2019, 7:56 amSo I used the data logging last fall to do some tuning and it worked perfect for the first 9 logs. I just took the car out for the first spin this year and tried to run a data log by pressing the toggle down while on dashboard, it says data logging on, I do a slow 0-60 pass and hit stop. Wait a few minutes, power down, unplug and go to the laptop. When I open the mass usb and go to the log files, I see basic settings folder and dashboard folder, I also see a csv file called dashboard 1 but it has 0-kb and no info in the file. This dashboard file is not inside the folder named dashboard where it usually is.
If I go into the data log settings on the handheld and choose basic settings, this will data log and produce the correct file in the folder basic settings and I can view it in excel. It does give me the data I need, but I just find it odd that I can no longer data log the dashboard correctly.
I am having the CTS issue also so I was going to swap sensors for a delco, but Im now wondering if I should do the software update in hopes the clean install will fix the data logging as well as give me control of the cts reading. I would prefer to correct the hardware rather than patch with software when possible, but if it fixes the data logging I may give it a shot.
Any ideas???

Oh, sounds familiar to the problem I was having saving the log files:
Quote from bdhulderman on September 29, 2018, 8:26 pmWow, this is interesting! I finally figured out why the handheld wasn't saving my log files. It turns out, if you delete all the .csv files in the DashBoard directory, without deleting the DashBoard directory, it doesn't know where to put the log files. I had it happen again and then deleted the DashBoard directory, and it created the DashBoard directory and put in the csv log file in there. So, the moral of the story is, if you need to clear out the DashBoard directory log files, also delete the DashBoard directory.

Quote from 67whitecoupe on April 1, 2019, 2:21 pmOh man, thats sound exactly like what i did. I cleared out the 9 dashboard files but not the folder. Thought that would be bad to delete the folder. Thanks for hauling that quote out, didn't see that in my searching of the forum. New cts sensor in place now too.
Cheers.
