the new guage and fittings are in. hopefully tonight or tomorrow to get them in.

the rev limiter verification is set to "off" from the factory. i did not turn it "on". only set the switches to the desired rev limit. fitech was very specific and said turn off the rev limiter not the verification, could be a mix up of words on their part. i have not been able to figure out how to shut off the rev limiter itself. the last box was just pull the rev pill out and you were all set. on the digital box if you set the switches to 0 and 0 it sets the rev limiter to 10,000 rpms. i am going to check on it again when i can get some help in the garage. i have a ticket into holley/msd for some answers as well.

appreciate the response.

well after more emails with fitech continuing to say "turn off rev limiter" and adjust the iac steps, i called msd. he confirmed there is no way to turn of rev limiter in the digital 6al. he does think fitech is referring to the rev verification but i did not have that activated. after a lengthy phone conversation with msd and all the things that could be wrong (fuel, phased distr cap, fitech programming, and more), i took his advise and went back to not using the timing control.

his advice was to get it running as a carb setup, then go over to timing control at a later date. so i converted the distributer back, revised the fitech/msd wiring and reloaded the fitech v-8 file.  then ran through the new fitech throttle body adjustment procedure. fired the car up and it revved very high again. went through the settings one at a time, saving each time. turned the ignition off for 45 seconds and turned the key. car fired up and came to idle. idle is higher than i set but the steps are 0 to 3. going to readjust the throttle per fitech and see how it goes.
