Faulty fuel injector
So I have a fuel injector that went bad yesterday. It stuck open and flooded the motor, now it will not work at all. I could tell it stuck because that port was filled with fuel. This is the second time this has happened in about 6 months. Not sure if anyone else has had any injectors fail? Also irritating that you have to order them direct from fitech, I wish they were a standard injector.
Had two injectors that intermittently didn't fire when the unit got hot, sent the whole unit back as it's still under warranty. I was at a Good Guys autocross in Scottsdale last year and one of the competitors changed out an injector. He's had issues before so he carries a spare. I plan to do that as well.
Right OK... the thing with this is the fuel command center says no pressure when I put the bonnet up. Then if you turn it off and on again it kicks in. Its like its electrical. Its not under warranty because I have had it a couple of years and was dreading doing g it. Its strange. I will fully rewire it. And see
Had another injector fail on me today. It’s always when I shut it off and restart it a few minutes later. This time it flooded the engine to the point where it hydro locked it. Fitech will be getting a phone call from me tomorrow.
