is there a way to reset the fitech unit back to factory and start over

Yep, select V8 cal. in your saved calibration menu and send to ecu.
how do you do that
I am not near my handheld, but I believe the calibration file can be found in the pro tuning menu.

On the handheld do the following steps.
1. Key on and connect to ECU
2. Go to the bottom of the Main Menu
3. Open WRITE CAL TO ECU
4. Load the DEFAULT V8 file

Mustang7173, thanks. I am on the road a lot these days and haven't been near my cars. I couldn't remember the exact steps to help.
