fuel dumping

Page 1 of 2Next

is there anything that controls the fuel pressure so it dose not over power the injectors and displace a huge amount of fuel into the throttle body mine ids dumping fuel in the motor and it started doing this all of a sudden ????

Please tell me you have a fuel pressure gauge at the fitech fuel inlet, because if you did, you could tell if the pressure is exceeding the specification.  I had a problem that happened all of a sudden.  The fuel pressure read 90 psi, the rating of my pump, because the fitech wasn't returning fuel any more, so I just eliminated the fitech fuel return by plugging that off and putting in my own external fuel pressure regulator and fed that return back to the tank.  Then I was able to set my fuel pressure at the inlet to what I wanted.

I have two fuel pressure gauges coming off of the hyper fuel to each of the throttle bodies I checked it on pre-start or prime they both are running at 40 psi I did not check it while it was running I will do that later this afternoon and remove my fuel return at the tank and see if it is returning any fuel I also have 2 fuel filters a 10 mic and a 30 to prevent bs from getting is the system both are before the hyper fuel what pats did you use to set all that up  what would cause the fitech to not return fuel on a 2x4 set up

also the only thing controlling my hyper fuel is the 12v power supply from the fitech no vac goes to them they run 40 psi all the time what ever has failed I believe is not  regulating the fuel something in the throttle bodies or something is telling it to dump huge amount of fuel very disappointed in this system

just went and checked my running fuel pressure is 77 psi I am in fact getting return fuel to the tank now my target afr is 13-5-1 my hand held shows a live running afr of lean 14-1 not fluctuating but I am extremely rich to where is barley runs black fuel smoke

I just have a single meanstreet 800 system.  I presume the regulator went out and stuck shut to prevent any fuel from being released.  Since I put my own external regulator setup in, I've had no problems.  I have my pressure regulated at 58 psi.

I just checked I am getting return to the tank and my running psi is 77 here is the odd part my target afr is 13-5-1 my hand held shows a solid 14-1 no fluctuation and it is still dumping fuel  pumping black smoke like a locomotive

Sounds now like your O2 sensor got plugged up, went out, or is not getting connection.  And 77 sounds high going to the fitech inlet.

ill check it out later this afternoon may just get a new one there cheap easy to replace there is a p/n floating around here some where

I ordered a 17014 sensor off of egay if it fixes it ill go get a bosh and keep the other as a spare, yes the inlet psi is 77 but it is returning to the tank I checked that yesterday, so now I wait till it shows up and ill let you know what happens.
