Fuel pressure

I have a mean street 800 with hyper surge tank . I put a fuel gauge on the inlet of the throttle body it was reading 90 plus lbs so I turn the fuel pump setting down to around 48 which gave me 58lbs on gauge at idle but when u hit the gas the gauge goes to over 100 I called FiTech they said that was fine . I was thinking that the fuel pressure should stay steady unless u gave a power adder system with boost . Do i have a bad regulator or is it fine thanks for any help.

I would say it clogged up

Sounds like a bad internal regulator. I had mine go out, and it was reading the max pressure of the pump, so I put in a external regulator, taking the internal one out of the loop. Solved my problem.
