fuel Pump noise ....
well first trip out today after about 30 or 45 min of it idling on the driveway over the lest few days ...
The fuel pump is mounted to the frame rail and is all tight ... but from the get go the pump has been loud ... so much you cant hear the car running over the pump ... and to add to this .. while driving the pump ramps up and down .. ( as it should ) but at times ramps up and at top it cuts out and the car dies out ... this is happening during all driving speeds ...
So a few things
Yes the pump is in within 3 feet of the tank and mounted lower that the bottom of the tank ..

What pump are you using? What is your fuel pressure? How big is your return line?
I usually recommend in tank pumps. Noise is one of the reasons. Depending on your setup, their is a way to slow the pump down. First, lets do some investigation.

its the 31003 kit
no gauge in the fuel line
the return is the 3/8 id hose the came with the kit ..
the pump is lower than the tank and it does pick fuel out of the tank.. we are looking at putting a bung at the bottom of the tank .. but then we would have a fuel line laying over the axl ...
