handheld not displaying gauges
i backed the car out about 4 days ago from the garage and everything was good, I went back to the car 4 days later and my handheld wont show any numbers on large gauges, it will show the heading like rpm, temp, iac but wont show the values, it has been extremely hot here, but my garage it is all metal and my walls get to 150 degrees and the car had no issues in there, but it sat outside for 4 days now this, it did rain twice but I had it at a car show 3 weeks ago and it rained but everything worked fine, I am happy they way it runs I haven't driven it yet with no hand held yet, but I would like to see what everything is doing
okay i found the problem and i don't think fitech r and d is aware of this catastrophic problem, part of the issue is i live in the country with cows and chickens n shit ,, a CRITTER has chewed on my hand held cable,, really ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wtf lol and it chewed it just behind the throttle body cable plug, the pin cable for the handheld oh its just fine because you can just buy a replacement cable but nooooo it chewed it on the other side, so I cut the plug off after crossing my fingers, toes, and nuts too, I stripped back the shield , woven ground, the black , green, white, red on the throttle body side then, the same on the handheld cable, but the hand held cable has no black wire odd but okay, and as a quick test I reconnected all the tiny little frickin wires and said f it, and I powered it up my handheld works and all my values are there thank god, I will do a proper solder repair and heat shrink fix to it tomorrow, I know why it chewed the wire whatever it was, most companies that make your wire harnesses and household wires like lamps, and standard extension cords, they use peanut oil in the injection molding process that's why animals will only chew on certain wires, not all use the oil but the ones that do animals love them, well I hope this was helpful as well as amusing as it was, I am just glade the expensive ass system still works after it being the main course, and btw it wasn't a cat no putty prints on the car anywhere and very small chomp marks and little tiny teeth marks, soo cant leave the car out anymore.
