idle surge

PreviousPage 2 of 2

OK, I'm a believer.  Changed the idle AFR target to 12.5 and like magic, the surge went away.  IAC count is around 10-15 and kind of moves up and down, but nothing like before.  It sounds rock solid, hot or cold.  I've got the RPM for idle set at 875, which seems high to me.  I've never worked on a big block before, though, and from looking at some other posts, it seems to be pretty  consistent with what others have it set at. I'm used to my 350 with a 675 idle.  I'm just happy the surge is gone, now I can move on to the next phase of tuning.  Lesson to be learned here is how big a deal having the right AFR actually is!    Next issue is going to be the almost stalling out when it shifts gears.

Thanks again!

Disable DFCO.  Raise enable temp to max.  This will help with shifting.

Once again, you are correct.  Disabled the DFCO and was much happier with the shifts.  A little TV cable adjustment took care of the rest.  You definitely know your FiTech!  Thanks!

When you answer as many posts as I have, you tend to learn a little.  I would love to say my units are tuned perfectly, but they are not.😃
