Information not storing
Quote from Challenger_7 on February 8, 2022, 1:59 pmHello everyone.
I have recently purchased a Fitech fuel injection system 30003 and installed it on my 74 Stingray Corvette which has a 454 Engine and manual gear.
I had problems understanding what figures to use in order to get the best out of the system as the car was not running smooth and having a lot of backfire at the engine side. Being new to all this and little instructions came with the unit, I resorted to searching the net for help in order to know what figures to store.
Luckily I encountered the Corvetteforum club that gave me many figures to use, but having gone back to try them out on my car, I cannot get the handheld to save any new changes to the ECU.
Any idea what the problem could be? I did "Send to ECU" on every command and at the end went back to the dashboard and switched off till the figures disappeared procedure, yet still no changes to the figures.
Anyone has any suggestions please?
Thanks

Just to confirm, did you turn on the ignition key to ON, before you entered new values as you can work in offline mode. Is there power to the white wire when entering values? Your ECU may be bad. Seems to be a run on bad ECU's With that size engine, the 30003 model may not be ideal. Personally you would be better off with the 30020 GO EFI Classic 650HP as the ECU is external. Heat kills ECU's. Make sure to have a heat spacer or insulating gasket between the TBI and the intake to prevent heat soak , which will kill the ECU.

Quote from MrCs68 on February 17, 2022, 2:28 pmI had the same Issue and after this correspondence with FiTec I was able to resolve the non save.
"Once you have made all of your changes make sure that you turn the system off for 10-20 seconds before starting it. If you go into dashboard on the main menu and look under the value column, when you turn the key off the numbers should still be there. After a short period they will disappear and the column will be empty that is when the changes are hard saved. If you are doing this and they are changing go into display set up and look for an option that says Calibration unlock. Look to the right and make sure is says disabled if it does not toggle to the right so it does and the settings will save then."
