Need advise please

I think what they are referring to here is that your fuel pressure regulator came out of a 97 VW Golf. If you go that route, I would recommend taking the regulator out and going down to Autozone, or whatever auto parts house you have, and look at all of them for 97 to make sure you get the right one. I had to replace my TPS sensor and Fitech said it was for a 90's Camaro. It actually was a 94 Camaro V-6, or something along those lines. But I had to look at 4 others -- good luck.

So I went with an external regulator as I could not find the correct VW golf one, tried all our big name parts stores with out any luck, the highest PSI they could find was the VR6 2.8 at 43.5psi, no listing for a 58psi regulator, so gave up and went with the Sytec SAR000BK and the regulator blanking plate with return....I capped off the return port and reconnected the line to the regulator blank plate return port but was unable to get any pressure at the Sytec and of course car would not start, so ended up putting the original regulator back in and reconnected the return pipe...I now have 58psi at the Sytec and car starts and drives(still have flat spot but will sort that later) so my question is.. will it be ok with both regulators or do I need to change how it's set up.

Quote from bdhulderman on October 23, 2018, 8:24 amI used the following external pressure regulator, and it worked great. I was able to adjust it to 58 psi by looking at my fuel gauge at the fitech fuel inlet after plugging off the return line on the fitech and taking that return line and connecting it to the new external regulator. My fitech fuel regulator quit flowing fuel for some reason. That's what led to this. I also run my fuel pump all the time with the key on, since it doesn't take PWM according to the manufacturer.
