As long as you are turning it out, you don't need to turn off the car after every time you make an adjustment. If you go too far (high) in IAC steps, then you will need to turn it in a tiny bit, shut off your car, wait a minute, fire it back up and view IAC. This is to get your TPS back to a zero reading. Of course, all of these updates need to be done with the engine fully warmed up > 170 deg.

Quote from Hugger1 on October 19, 2019, 9:19 pmLooks like you went a bit too far on the IAC adjustment...need to get it back to the 3-10 range. This time you will need to make the adjustment with the engine off and you'll need to turn the screw in. Sorry if I missed other posts, is this a new install? What are you using for timing control? If your timing is way off, you could also have a lot of unburned gas. Is the system showing any codes? And what FiTech system is this you're working with?

Big cam engines want a higher IAC. Fitech is a little off with their 3-10. Stock engines will perform well with that setting. Mild cams work better around 15. Big cams 20-25.
