New to FiTech - Failed Emissions...BADLY

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Update (Positive): I did a reset of the IAC steps per the suggestions outlined above. I also went into the controller and reset the stock values to approx .6-.7 AFR leaner across the board. With these changes, I was able to successfully pass emissions!

I do run Cats on the truck (84 GMC is mandatory in AZ) as well as the evap system, but there were no leaks in the system. I checked with a vac gauge and started with nothing connected to EFI or intake. I then started adding items one at a time (Evap, Vac Advance, and Low Vac switch to ported on Fitech and PCV and then dash-operated functions to unported). Gauge showed readings consistent with normal behavior at each addition.

I believe that the stock settings are just too much fuel for AZ emissions. Need to trim those tables in order to get the values where MVD wants them, and make sure that IAC is set correctly.

Glad to hear you got it figured out! Time to ride!

AZ emissions test look for the 14.7 AFR. At 13.6 you would be quite rich for a emissions test. Glad to hear you got it figured out. Emissions can be a difficult task.
