No start on initial try.

I can’t get my LS2 in my ‘59 Elcamino to start. Checked the injectors to make sure they were not plugged. Fuel pump is delivering as it should. Got spark at the plugs. If I shoot starting fluid while it cranking, it will try to run, so I’m figuring the CKP, CAM etc, is ok.
I need to add- my fuel system has no pressure regulator for the fuel rail. I am wondering if this my be my problem. I’m thinking that without any pressure except for what the pump delivers, the injectors won’t work properly.

Others should be answering this. Also you need to supply more information. Fitech has built in pressure regulator, different pressures for different systems, do you have high pressure pump, are you getting prime shot, do you have pressure gauge in supply line, are you getting power to unit after you release key, are you getting any fault codes etc etc.

The engine was from a 2004 Silverado, with 45,000 miles on the odometer, with a 4L60 tranny. I got a FiTech 70005-1 installed on the engine. The fuel pump has an output of 60gph. The fuel rail are supplied and returned with AN-6 lines.  I have power after the key is released from start to on. No fault codes on the display. No debris in the fuel rail or injectors. I removed the injectors, placed a towel underneath the injectors and cranked the engine. I got 8 wet spots the size of a pencil eraser. I was expecting a bigger spray pattern. This leads me to believe I need a fuel pressure regulator to maintain 30-40 psi in the rails.

Please check Part No of unit, also pressure not flow rate of pump.

The ECU is 70050-1, cable operated throttle. I don’t know at this time what pressure I have in the rails as I have no pressure gauge In at the rails. The pump is in the tank and as I posted, it’s capable of 60 gph I am waiting for a regulator at this time.
