over fueling and no start

I have a 72 Camaro with 383 stroker that is not starting, Fitech unit has been installed over a year ago and up until now running good. I how try to start engine but it will not. If i turn fuel pump off and on to control fuel i can get car to fire and run. motor is obviously dumping fuel into motor and flooding. Can you give me and pointers on what to check please.

Have someone crank the engine over while you look down the bores.  Safest to video with your phone.  Make sure there isn't an injector over fueling or stuck open.  You can post the video here if you need too.

Have you tried holding throttle wide open like you would a flooded carbed engine? Do you have your prime shot disabled? What is your fuel pressure?

I did a reset learn on system and and set up and now have got engine running. Runs fine on road until i switch off car, when i restart car starts ok but system has gone rich again.

May want to do a software update.  Instructions to get the software are in the members section.  I have all the software.

I had this exact issue a year or so ago and the software update fixed it!

  1. I have a 383 stroker as well. Cold starts great gets to tempature great. Once I shut it down it will not restart. Any ideas? It’s new out of the box. Do you think the software needs updated?

thanks Jasen

It never hurts to update your software.  The version I have just cam out in December.  It is the 198i software that has been out for a couple years, but has some new features.

Your issue is crank settings.  This is a bit of trial error procedure.  Enable your pro tuning on the handheld.  You can find more information in the Handheld Definitions Topic of the Members Section.

I have sort of the same issue except Im getting hydro lock at start up and have to pull the plugs and blow out a stream of . Also I did not have this problem before reloading the program.
