POE 2 Atlas Speedrun: U4N Guide for Faster Endgame
Reaching the endgame quickly in Path of Exile 2: Forbidden Rites is mostly about making good decisions rather than simply playing faster. The latest progression changes make the Atlas considerably easier to unlock, while the event's Ritual mechanics provide useful currency and gear along the way. For players also looking for POE 2 Items, the important thing is to avoid spending too much time farming before the character actually needs it.
The same principle applies to POE 2 Items during the campaign. A few useful upgrades can make boss fights much smoother, but completely clearing every zone is usually a poor trade when your main goal is reaching maps. Patch 0.5.5 gives players a particularly strong reason to follow a direct route because the Precursor Fortress progression has been shortened.
Follow the Main Story Without Detours
The fastest progression starts with the campaign itself. Instead of clearing every monster pack and side area, follow the shortest practical route toward your next quest objective.
A useful route is Ziggurat Refuge, Precursor Tower, Ancient Gateway, and then Burning Monolith. From there, move toward the Western and Eastern Gateways and defeat the Precursor Separator and Precursor Refiner.
These encounters open the way to the Enigma Chambers. Once inside, focus on the bosses and collect the Crisis Fragments required for the next stage of progression. After that, defeating the Arbiter of Ash moves you closer to the Divinity sequence.
The important point is knowing when to stop farming. If your character can comfortably kill the required bosses, there is little reason to spend several minutes clearing an optional section just for a small amount of experience.
Unlock the First Arbiter Encounter
After progressing through the required objectives, head toward the Origin Tower. Speak with Doriani to open the Matriarch and Patriarch Halls.
The objective here is straightforward. Run toward the relevant bosses, obtain the Origin Spark and Origin Cradle, and use them to access the initial Arbiter of Divinity encounter.
The first Arbiter fight is necessary, but it should not be treated as the final destination. Patch 0.5.5 changes what happens afterward and creates the biggest opportunity for an Atlas speedrun.
Take Advantage of the Fortress Shortcut
Previously, Fortress progression required players to repeat the Arbiter process several times and manually interact with stone statues to complete the different sections.
The new system is much more convenient. After completing the main quest progression, look for another set of Matriarch and Patriarch Halls. These lead to a harder Arbiter of Divinity encounter.
Defeating this upgraded version automatically clears the remaining Fortress progression and grants the associated Atlas Passive Skill Tree points. That saves a substantial amount of unnecessary running and lets you move toward serious endgame mapping much sooner.
The only real question is whether your character is strong enough to handle the upgraded fight. If your build is struggling, spending a little time improving equipment is better than repeatedly dying and losing momentum.
Use Rituals Without Losing Your Pace
Forbidden Rites places Ritual encounters throughout the campaign, making them useful sources of currency, gear, and progression resources. However, you do not need to stop for every Ritual.
If one appears directly along your route, completing it can be worthwhile. If it requires a long detour, continuing the campaign is usually more efficient.
Unique Ritual Effigy clusters deserve more attention because they can combine several bosses into one encounter and provide guaranteed Unique rewards. These are especially useful when they appear naturally along your route.
Once you reach maps, Sacred Blooms become another important resource. They allow access to the Viridian Wildwood, where Primal, Vivid, and Wild Wisps can improve map density and rewards.
Build Your Atlas Around Waystone Sustain
Early Atlas points should support consistent map progression. Pathkeepers and Valuable Paths are useful choices because they improve item quantity and help increase Waystone drops from map bosses.
Hilda's Contract passives are another option for players focused on climbing map tiers. They provide a chance for a Normal boss to become a Powerful Map Boss, with the upgraded encounter providing a Waystone one tier higher.
Adaptive Biology and No Simple Battles can also help with overall loot and Waystone sustain by giving rare monsters additional modifiers. The downside is increased difficulty, so these points make more sense once your build is already comfortable with the content.
Push Into Endgame at the Right Time
The fastest route through Forbidden Rites is not about skipping every piece of content. It is about choosing the content that directly improves your progression.
Rush the campaign, complete useful Rituals when convenient, defeat the required Arbiter encounters, and use the upgraded Fortress fight to unlock the remaining Atlas progression. Afterward, concentrate on Waystone sustain and gradually increase map investment.
Once your character is comfortably handling higher-tier maps, Sacred Blooms and Wisps become much more valuable, and you can shift from pure progression into efficient endgame farming.
