prime 5 to six times before start

have been playing with prime shot and a few other settings for weeks now. Truck will start if i prime 5 to 6 times and have had prime maxed and no change.running is good and performance isnt all that good but does run. just trying to get the start issue first and work my way in..... have check and had to reset IAC's here and there....thanks in advance

Get a voltage gauge to monitor the voltage going to your fitech and watch it while cranking the engine over.  If it goes below about 10.5 volts while cranking, you will have to hit the prime several times to get it to start.  If the voltage gets that low, on my car if it happened to start it would foul my plugs in short order.  You are lucky that's not happening to you.  My solution was to put in a 850 CCA Odyssey battery.  Then the voltage didn't get below 11 volts while cranking and fires up now the first time, everytime.

Do you have fuel commander, inline pump, or in-tank pump?  I have an inline pump by-the-tank and had to install a check valve to expedite starts as I had to prime several times due to the fuel returning to-the-tank.

Is this at all temperatures?

I'm having cold start issues as well. Need to prime 5+ times before it will fire. Have reset everything back to default and started from the beginning once more. This time I have zero'd all the PMW and crank fuel settings. Truck only driven in summer. I live in Canada. Temp usually won't get below 30 in the summer... Usually.... Any pointers or help in the direction I should go with the numbers?? I've been at this for quite some time. Truck runs great once I get it running. It's getting it to start like an efi should start is the problem.

This worked SO good.  Kept it right at 13 volts while cranking.  Fires right up everytime.  Check your voltage to the fitech while cranking.

mine needs primed 3 times but I am running a 871 blower with the power adder system and I have 2 1000 cca battery's but I contribute the prime problem to the blower and how far away the fuel charge is from the cylinders and it having to go through the blower rotors but once it lights off it starts right up iac is at 8 and idles good
