Pro-tuning option

i have the 30002 kit, and it has the controller without the arrows, what’s the difference between the having arrows and not? Also, I’m seeing post with the pro-tuning option, again mine doesn’t have that. And last, is I bought 2 kits, one new, and one used, I’m only able to use the controller that came with the used kit, until I receive a replacement, I’m new to this, I’ve tried putting my engine in and saving, pushing the joystick and going back to dashboard, key off, wait till the numbers go blank, and when I go back to look at the engine, it’s not my setting....I’ve tried to default the settings... am I missing something? Or need an update?

1. Arrow handheld is a newer version.  The two handheld take different software, which is available.  Neither is anymore capable than the other.

2. Pro tuning must be turned on in your display menu.  Default, it is not shown.

3.  Using different handhelds on different systems is not recommended.  The handheld is programmed with specific software to its matching unit.

4.  First couple start ups, the system will sometimes lose the tune.  Something about the internal battery.  To save a tune, go to "Read from ecu", select one of the file names at the bottom.  All named the same, just remember which one you picked.  If you lose your tune, simply select "Write to ecu" and select the file.  This will only occur a couple times.

In the "Write to ecu" menu, there are 3 default tunes.  8,6,4 cylinder tunes.  In the name you will see a a number like 195u or something like that.  That is the software version.  The next number is the model number 300xx.  The latest Software is 198i.  Check your handhelds and see what you have.  If you need new software follow the instructions to receive in the Members Section.  Also Fitech instructions on how to update are provided.  You will need a free Dropbox account to receive the software.

Good advice! Glad this page exists..

Ok, so.... apparently when I bought the used kit, they must of swapped a power adder controller to go with the 30002 kit, the barrels are colored on the power adder models correct? I plugged the controller to my computer and even with the bad SIM card which I swapped figured it would be ok, but it makes sense to me now, so I have the 30012 card in the controller that’s in my truck.. that’s why I guess I’m having trouble... so can I load the correct program to this card? To work on the 30002? What do I do?

Go to software update topic in the Members Section.  There you will see how to request the software.

Now you said you were getting a replacement handheld for your other unit?  We need to keep SD card, handheld and unit together.  Don't want you to have more issues with software and hardware mixups.

Gotcha, here’s the weird part, I seen another post on here and commented my controller doing the same, but when I used the SIM card from the other into mine me it worked....fitech is sending me a new controller... had me thinking my new SIM card was the issue...

Just to clear things up.  That is a memory card, micro SD, not a SIM card.

Yes you could have had a bad memory card.  When Fitech sends the new handheld, it should have a new memory card.  When you get it. Confirm the software is for the 30002, or 30001, and program the unit to that handheld.  It is the last few steps in the Software Update instructions.

Hold on to your extra handheld.  May come n handy one day.
