pump or regulator

So my car falls on its face around 3000rpm I did run the car out of fuel recently maybe I damaged the pump witch is a in tank 255 sound like it runs all the time the hand held says fuel pump 99% at idle not sure whats going on don"t have external gauge

Pretty tough to diagnose without a gauge, but I’m dealing with a similar issue where we originally thought it was the pump...now I’m leaning to regulator as if I momentarily block the return I get a full 90 PSI out of my pump, which would lead me to think it’s not weak, but the regulator is bypassing too much fuel

changed the regulator that did nothing it also goes realy lean like 16 18 and I hear like kind of a whistling sound when I mash it double checked for vacuum leaks found none. Iac maybe? teetering on the edge of  going back to a carb

I know you are new to this, but you are all over the place.  Whistling is normal when hard on throttle.  The lean AFR can be a lot of things.  Some typical and not an issue.  Others can be an issue.  Confirming fuel pressure is critical as stated above.

Carbs will run with bad tune, vacuum leaks, poor wiring, exhuast leaks, etc.  EFI is not as forgiving.
