Rich idle

Page 1 of 2Next

Hi. My car is a 64 falcon with a late model 302 running a number 3 cam showing 10 in of vacuum at idle. Ignition advance is at 17 deg at idle.  I have a 600hp and find the exhaust fumes strong indicating rich. I have set idle afr as lean as I can at 16:1 and the dashboard monitor confirms it. However exhaust fumes are still strong. Any ideas?

Do you have at least 18in exhaust passed the O2 sensor?  What is your fuel pressure?  Send a datalog...

Cam specs?

I'll get a datalog ready and send it.

Cam is Ford B303 with 1.7 rockers so 5.10/5.10  and 284/284. Heads are AFR165. using Tri Y long tubes with o2 set about 1/2 way into length of the collector. Dual 2 1/4 exhaust all the way to back with a H pipe.

Pdf file came out to 92 pages.😁  I need it in a spreadsheet format.  30 seconds, no throttle, over 170.

Doesn't seem to allow uploading excel format

Must use Dropbox or Cloud.  Paste link.

Thanks, that's readable.  The unit is doing its job.  IAC steps look good. AFR learn is high.  I would look at your exhuast system and O2 sensor installation.  I would for leaks in the system that could be drawing in fresh air, producing a false lean reading for the O2 sensor.
