Startup and idle issues
I had the FIF-31003 installed. I have been driving a couple days. I know the system learns, but I want to know if I should try changing some settings. Engine is a new Chevrolet performance 290/350. 250 miles on it. The issues I have are:
1 - either will not start or keep running on cold or warm start without depressing throttle. Seems worse on warm start
2 - stalled on me 4 times today. Once at a red light. 3 other times backing out of a space after warm start
3 - hesitation on acceleration when cruising at constant speed
4 - slow idle in gear - drops to around 600 rpm, sometimes lower
Should I let it learn more, or tweak settings?
What type of fuel system is being used? Fuel Command Center?
What type of ignition are you using?
Send pic of spark plugs. Sounds like you are running rich. Do you have 18in or more exhuast pipe past O2 sensor?
I’m running the electric fuel pump. No command center. HEI ignition. Yesterday I adjusted the idle screw to get the iac between 3-10 at warm idle. That has helped a lot. Was around 150. Cold start was great this morning. Warm start still struggles a little bit. Took a couple tries to get it started warm. Exhaust runs for several feet past o2 sensor. Probably 6 or more.
