Trouble codes
Quote from bdhulderman on April 13, 2019, 6:32 pmOk, got problems. It's been a couple of weeks since I started it, and now it's running like hell. Looks like there are trouble codes now that were not there 2 weeks ago, and of course, it's not in my trouble code map.

Quote from bdhulderman on April 14, 2019, 10:11 amThanks Austin, I'm going to load my previous saved settings later today, just in case something changed. I hope nothing plugged up the injectors from the fuel or something like that. I guess I could also put in some fuel injection cleaner in the tank?

Quote from bdhulderman on April 14, 2019, 4:35 pmWhew! Ok, I learned something today. Because I hadn't started it in a couple of weeks, my battery got low enough where it had only 8 volts at the battery while cranking, apparently causing the fitech not operate properly once it did get started. I charged the battery for most of the day and replaced my plugs that had fouled during the bad operation, and cranked it over, and it fired right up and idled beautifully. This time during cranking the voltage was 10 volts, which is apparently enough to keep the fitech from operating improperly. So, the moral of the story is, if the voltage to the fitech while cranking is under 10 volts, don't even attempt to start the vehicle, or you will foul your plugs, because it's running so crappy. 😀 https://youtu.be/tEKr4FVa3vE

Quote from Rich on April 21, 2019, 1:59 pmWell, here's a lesson learned ... maybe.
I'm throwing 105s like crazy. Wierd part is that it'll throw 105 for a few cycles, then not, then 105 again. Do O2 sensors cool down welded to header collectors? Bad O2?
I didn't think about fouling the plugs when an O2 goes bad, but it certainly makes sense as a possibility.

Quote from bdhulderman on April 21, 2019, 2:49 pmI do think that during the tuning process when your AFR may not be right yet and you foul your plugs, it seems to also foul the O2. I used to get 105's all the time, replaced the O2 and they stopped. When I just had this issue with the low battery fouling the plugs, I did get 105's again, but now after it started running good again, no more 105's. If you get them a lot, I would replace the O2, not sure if they can be cleaned like plugs can.

Quote from Rich on April 21, 2019, 3:59 pmThe one part that you had going for you is you got it running good again. Mine is not doing so well yet. But, I have a total of three O2 sensors on the car. They can't all be bad, so first checking the plugs and cleaning, then switch out the O2. Be great if that's all it takes.
Thanks for the info Bdhulderman!

I agree, they can't all be bad. What Bdhulderman isn't saying is he has a "454 small block", yes I typed that right. He has a very radical engine. Tuning was outside the box.

Quote from Rich on April 21, 2019, 6:40 pmWow - that is a really interesting build. Mine is but a modest and common 383 small block. Certainly, I should be able to get it running nicely. I have never uploaded via dropbox, but will give it a shot shortly. I only have three log files saved, but will provide the details in an email if I can figure out dropbox.
I really appreciate help with this!
