Trouble getting final set up right.

Hello - I adjusted AFR, spark map and accel pump which helped drive ability some more as long as I don't hit the throttle too hard.

When I'm at cruse around 1800/2000 rpm and hit it hard (TPS to high 90's) the engine goes very lean (16 to 18 AFR typical) and bogs then over compensates and goes very rich (10 AFR typical) for a bit. This swing from lean to rich goes on and seems when I hit about 3000 rpm gets a little better.

I increased the dTPS Acc Gain from 109 to 150 then to 200 and didn't see a significant difference. Suspect I need to adjust AFR plus the dTPS Acc Gain together but wanted some advise first. Trying not to loose ground on progress so far and not sure if I'm missing some other critical setting. I haven't touched the AFR Closed Loop settings or the dTPS Acc Max and a little out of my league here.

The attached is part of a log showing this happening plus 2 charts showing AFR Vs Target AFR (one has TPS as well) to show the swing back and forth.

Hello Austin - Sorry to hear about your broken arm - sucks when your activities are disrupted like that. Made a donation and hope it helps a bit.

Still struggling to get this AFR instability during a WOT sorted out. It's a bit better but still bogs badly.

Problem is the response and stability during a quick throttle hit. I can't get AFR from going too lean (14-15) then over compensating to too rich (10) through a fast throttle hit. This too lean / too rich swing continues during accel.

Engine bogs through out this WOT accel and hoping I don't backfire bad enough to blow off my exhaust.

Here's items I'm tuning:

Fast accel 170f  @ 50

dTPS Acc Gain  @ 217

dTPSAcc Max  @ 154

AFR Loop Speed  @ 48   /  also tried at 70 and not much difference.

Is there something I'm missing that might help? Can't seem to get past this problem and afraid to attempt passing someone on the highway even. Missing that WOT throaty sucking sound from my carb at this point.  Frustrating.

At this point, I believe you need to reload a default file and start adjusting your cam tables.  I am unable to explain without being there.  Maybe find a local tuner that may help.

Ok thanks - I have a tuner to work with and first we're going to concentrate on the accel pump settings.

Plan on loading the V8 default file and start over clean. I've recorded and saved all existing settings as some of them did help  but the accel pump and fuel control need a clean start I think.

The car is running but still struggles and has about 200 miles of learning as I've made changes and tested them out.

Do you think I should reset all learn when I load the V8 default file or leave as is?

Learn resets when new default file is loaded.
