Voltage issue
Quote from barlowjc12 on March 2, 2021, 10:22 amI have a 3001 on a stroked 351, cranking without problems for 2000 miles, now rarely cranks. Hand held show 12.4 volts with ignition on, when cranking jumps up and down from 9 to 5 mostly around 6. I rarely hear it deliver the prime shot, if it does it usually cranks , if it cranks voltage comes back up to 12 or more. Red wire is directly to battery. I moved the white wire directly to battery with no change. Tried a new battery with 550 cranking amps with no change. My original battery was yellow top optima with 450 cca and it had been ok for 2000miles. Both batteries drop to 10 volts or so during cranking and engine turns over strong. Could I need a larger battery or could this be an internal Fitech problem?

Quote from 69_R-Code on March 2, 2021, 2:55 pmCan't really attribute a cranking issue to Fitech. Take the battery to an auto parts store. Most will "load test" your battery no charge. This will tell you condition of your battery.
