vss help with older 4wd transfer case

i have an 85 blazer transfer case, how or what can i do for a vss? i had purchased a autometer #5291, but it wont read past 6 mph. any ideas to fix this? now it wont shift out of first! please help!

Have you checked that the wiring isn't reversed?
Also, you can try a different version of the VSS signal driver. There are many available. Here is an example of one. https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/electronics/sensors/
