Now that I am home and can tune more, I am working for the same thing.  Your prime shot is the equivalent to the old half pump or full pump.  The cranking is a pain.  As you said only one time a day to start cold.  Keep working with it.  It doesn't need to be perfect amount.  Starting is fairly forgiving on AFR.  But if lean, it will definately not start.
