My Build
Quote from bdhulderman on July 13, 2020, 7:09 pmFinished with paint in my garage, and got the car running well now, once I finally welded in the O2 bungs, one for fitech, one for my AFR guage, which now read the same AFR. This car weighing just 3040 with 700 Hp @7200 rpm normally aspirated small block chevy on pump gas should get me down the track pretty well I'm thinking, if the track will ever open back up.

Quote from bdhulderman on July 20, 2020, 3:59 pmI am so happy I opted for giving Ramin a shot at remote tuning my Meanstreet 800! After just 4 revisions, the car is running superbly! He also reminded me that when I take it to the track, I could send him another log so he can check it out.

Quote from bdhulderman on August 9, 2020, 10:37 amMy car was temporarily out of commission until I could figure out what was wrong with the fuel pressure. I have a 90 psi external pump and a regulator that can be regulated from 0-65 psi. I noticed the fuel pressure gauge to my fitech inlet was reading about 40 psi all of a sudden, and I was able to get it up to 50, by adjusting the regulator, but it needs to be 58. It was about due for a fuel filter change and that made no difference, and I checked the voltage on the pump, and it was getting full voltage, so I replaced the pump. That didn't change anything. So I was fiddling with the regulator adjustment again, and all of sudden the fuel pressure went to 0 and stayed there, but the car was still running, which would be impossible, so then I ordered a new fuel pressure gauge yesterday, and received today through Amazon. I put that on and bingo! I adjusted the pressure with the engine off with the key on, to run the pump, and got it to my desired pressure by adjusting the regulator to about 58 psi. Then I started the car and the pressure stayed there! Back in business! That other gauge I had on there was the original fitech gauge. I don't think I would recommend that one. Here's my new one.
Quote from bdhulderman on August 30, 2020, 4:28 pmRan the car a little more to get the Fitech EFI to learn a little more. Seemed to run a little better the more I drive it. Here's a merge on the hwy with just about 50% throttle according to TPS reading. I almost missed third gear fighting the cable for the handheld. I'll have to tie that out of the way during racing for sure. When I do take it to the track, I can see what it will do with 100%. This is what a 700 Hp N/A small block chevy running on pump gas, with about .8 lift and about 284 duration at .05 sounds like. Fitech meanstreet 800 with about 5" Hg at idle.

Quote from bdhulderman on September 19, 2020, 12:25 pmTook another little drive, trying to get the EFI to learn my driving habits. It does seem to be getting better, no more popping from over rich or leaning out like it was. 😄

Quote from bdhulderman on January 15, 2021, 7:53 pmPut on my '66 tonight the biggest Fitech EFI they have (30012) with 8 injectors, capable of 1200 Hp, that I picked up from a guy for $500, normally $1500, from an engine building group on facebook. It was so easy, since I already had the Meanstreet 800 Hp unit on it (30008) The advantage to the 30012 is the timing control capability, another fan circuit, and Power Adder boost fuel control, if I ever decide to take that route. I turned the key to on for power, made the few updates I needed, very few actually, and fired it up. Adjusted IAC steps and it idled beautifully! So happy with this unit, can't wait to take it on the road for it to learn my driving habits.

Now, it seems to be about 6 in Hg, which is a little better. Might of had a little vacuum leak before, seems to idle better to me.
