Need some help, surging idle. Logs included!

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

Cam setting is #4 my idle is set for 880 rpm at 14.1:1 afr

If you mean my IAC loop settings I have not messed with them they are factory.

My cam has more duration than yours and I run on cam setting 2.

Judging by your vacuum, cam 4 is correct.  You need to pull your plugs and tune your idle AFR to the plugs.    Until idle is correct, you should not tune anything else.

Scratch that.  I am getting my builds mixed up.  At to cam 2 and set IAC steps.  Let it learn a little then send another idle log.

Idle burn on the plugs looks great at 14.1:1. I need to turn down my afterstart and crank fuel for easier no bog starting. Im more concerned with the fluctuation at idle. I’ll do more driving and tuning tonight. Idle is as perfect as I can get it with the knowledge I have which is why I am asking for advice on where to go next. Maybe I’m in the wrong place or asking the wrong questions. So you are saying my log looks good and that the RPM readings in it seem normal, no interference?

I had it on cam 3 before and it was way too rich and dumping fuel.

Cam 4 is the most radical setting.  No, your datalog doesn't look good.  The Fitech is doing its job, but something is off.  Either you have some issue with the engine or I'm not getting the correct information.

I run cams slightly smaller than that and get 10-12 Vacuum and run cam 2.

Ok, so what looks wrong in my log? That’s what I was trying to ask because it’s a lot of info for me to process not knowing exactly what I’m looking for.

All the info I have given you is correct, if there is anymore info you need just ask.
