Thanks for the add to the forum!  My father in law is getting ready for an end of summer 1k mile road trip and we are just trying to get some fine touchs on the FiTech.  1958 Buick Caballero, 455/turbo 400.  Stock engine build with a cam.  LSA 112, TA290-94H cam with lift X1.6 at .491I, and .502E, 290/294 duaration.  Cars seems to run rich at idle in the 65 degree and the 170 degree tables.  Please shoot me in the right direction.

Thanks

Ryan and Ray

Your IAC steps are really high.  Do you have full exhaust on the car.  At least 18 in past the O2 sensor.  If so, you may have an exhuast leak.

Also what cam setting are you running.

Hey Austin, Thanks for the reply!

It has shorty headers and full 2.25" exhuast, no x or h pipe because of the original frame design under the car.  On cold start we don't notice a leak.

We are running cam setting 3 according to what FiTech told me based off of the 12 lbs vacuum.

Thanks

Ryan

Correction, it has 2" exhaust.

That would be wrong for cam setting.  You are in between a 1 or 2.  Try 2 and get those IAC steps down to 15.

Ok, set it back to cam 2.  The screen was showing IAC around 15 but the log i am seeing is showing 12.  Seem to be getting a little more pop now out of the tailpipe.  Not sure if that is exhaust related or tuning.  Heres the current log.  Thanks again.

Off topic, Fitech helped me do an update on my handheld and now the screen is upside down but the buttons try to still work as if the screen were right side up.  Not the end of the world but annoying LOL.

I just noticed that the first data log i sent was not the correct one.  The last one i sent is the most recent and has the changes to it.  I have now gone in the handheld and deleted all the previous logs so we can start new from here.  Sorry about that.

Timing is set at initial 14 degree and has the electronic pertronix upgrade in a stock distributor not ran by FiTech as well.

That last log is looking a lot better.  Leave it on Cam 2.  The system is learning.

Take it for some moderate drives.  The system needs to several different loads and throttle changes.  Accel might hesitate or bog.  Don't worry about that right away.  Some of that will correct in the learn.  We can fine tune the Accel soon.

Cranking fuel is a fine art for each individual build.  It takes time to get dialed in.  The temp ranges are coolant temps for the cranking breakpoints.  Some disable Prime Shot by setting at -100.

You may experience some popping during decel and possibly a stall under hard braking.  That is the DFCO.  Read about it and all the other features in the Handheld Definitions.  This can be disabled by raising the enable temp to the maximum value.

As for the upside down screen.  They sent you the wrong software.  I have the correct software.  Look in members section on how to request the software.  Need the model number and whether or not the Handheld has arrows around the toggle.
