Retro LS initial setup on 5.3 with moderate cam - running rough
Keep it up. You are on the correct path. Keep an eye on your settings. Initially the settings can get lost during the first few startups. Weird but true.
Funny you should say that. That's exactly what happened tonight. When I went to fire it up for the first time tonight, all of my initial setting changes from the prior evening were gone. Thankfully, I remember what I had them set at. I figured I'd save that for another post, if it kept happening. I'll make sure to document or picture my settings so I don't forget if they get lost.
Update: I think I finally got the initial setup just about dialed in. She’s idling at about 825, with target idle set at 800. AFR hovers around 14. IAC is at 13 steps without an air filter on it. However the target IAC has somehow set itself to 1. (Maybe I accidentally changed it?)
Shes running very nice now and fires right up, maybe a 1/2 crank at most.
